History

     Elysium was first opened on August 31st, 2004, as a remake of my previous graphic site, Dreamless*Reality--which in turn was a remake of the site before that, A*E Designs. Both previous sites sprung up as a result of my involvement with Neopets guilds back in 2002, wherein it was custom to make a website to go along with your guild. Guild websites sometimes offered small icons or banners to promote the guild, which led to my initial exposure to anime/manga graphic sites. I was utterly enchanted.

      My interest in Neopets waned and I chose to focus my time on opening a graphic site instead. Dreamless*Reality was converted into a resource site and ran its course for over a year. After that, I decided to open Elysium as a more serious and long-term graphic site. The result is what you are seeing now.

Name

Elysium, noun:

1. A dwelling place assigned to happy souls after death; the seat of future happiness; paradise.
2. Hence, any place or condition of ideal bliss or complete happiness.
